Hello, lovely readers! Today is the first day of a very exciting week for me—the Mom 2.0 Summit will be starting on Wednesday, RIGHT HERE in Orlando, Florida!
(Have I mentioned how much I love living in a place that is a vacation destination?)
This event is an incredible opportunity for writers like me to connect with peers, brands, marketers…and let’s face it, to just have fun.
All this week, I’ll post from the conference. Today, though, I want to share a special post which I made on my personal page (my pre-Misery Loves Cookery sounding board) about my first time attending the event. Flying to the Summit expressed my feelings of anticipation for my first time at the event, two years ago, several months after my vertical sleeve gastrectomy.
I hope you enjoy reliving my joy at being free to travel along with me. Sometimes, I still can’t believe I’ve come as far as I have. I still struggle—A LOT—but reminding myself of the victories along the way is so powerful. Here’s me on the plane, not actually believing I fit:
And did I mention I met Jenny Lawson at this event? And I hugged her, and kind of sloppy-cried because I was so excited? And she was completely cool with my outlandish display of fan-girl behavior? Yeah, that happened, and I have proof. (The Bloggess IS all that, and a bag of chips, and some queso, too.)
Look out tomorrow for a special cooking segment/Facebook live with some amazing ladies who are pre-conferencing at my place. It will be fun! Are you gluten-free? You won’t want to miss this! Follow the Misery Loves Cookery Facebook Page and you won’t!
