Tomorrow is going to be EPIC, Misery Loves Cookery fans! For the first time, ever, a letter-writer will be joining me LIVE in my kitchen to try his hand at some dishes that cook quickly, taste great, and are easy on the budget. He’s a gem, and loads of fun, and I think you’ll enjoy our cooking and our banter. You can read his letter below, then tune in throughout the afternoon tomorrow at the Misery Loves Cookery Facebook Page for LIVE cooking and problem-solving. It’s going to be a blast!
From desperate….For quality food of course….And other facets, but who’s counting?
I’m writing you because I find myself in a few difficult positions! The first being as someone who works in the entertainment industry, as well as everywhere else. (May or may not be maintaining 4 jobs at the moment)
I find myself without any time to buy groceries, and cook the food I should be eating. I hesitate to admit the only things in my fridge right now are a series of salad dressings I bought on sale, and a half gallon of milk that expired in the beginning of March that I haven’t thrown out (partially because it’s become a comfort that I know it will be there when I go to look, and partially because I lack the motivation to do much more at home than sleep).
I usually settle for something fast and easy, that doesn’t really satisy at 12 a.m. a philosophy I try not to live by in other parts of my personal life! Essentially I need a miracle!
I have very little time to go out and purchase meat, produce, etc. And when I do, it goes bad because I can’t rile myself up enough to cook. (I’m the type who counts how many hours of sleep I would get if I went to bed right now.)
I’ve tried meal prepping, via Pinterest recommendations, but can’t stick to it. I’ve heard the soccer mom chant of “SLOW COOKER MEALS” but I don’t have a crock pot, nor the $60 to spend on one.
The second issue (if we want to call it that) is I have recently found myself in a relationship! Yay! However my new boyfriend doesn’t enjoy anything that grows in nature! I’ve tried to hide vegetables under bacon, and fruit under frosting, but he easily sees through my attempts! He tries everything, but I’ve yet to find one he enjoys! Kind of actually begging for any advice you can give! Food or otherwise!
Sincerely, The man who binge ate Wendy’s at 3 a.m!
Want to find out what we make? Tune in Friday, April 14th!
